The 2012 Olympics has turned London, England into a tourist hotbed and when the swarms of people who infiltrated this historic city have some down time away from their spectator perches at the games, many go sightseeing. While the list of sights to see are vast, there’s one place made famous through the modern history of pop-culture that people gravitate to by the masses and a web cam is catching their every strange, but predictable move.
While webcams are set up all over the city of London, that will satisfy the voyeurism tendencies in most, there’s one camera that promises a show every few minutes. The Abbey Road crosswalk, made famous by the famous Beatles album cover, is pulling in visitors from all over the world. Most are there not to just stand and gaze at it, but every few minutes people are striking that famous Beatles’ pose, reports N.J.com and some are acting very strange.

Most of the people seen on this webcam probably are cautious and considerate people in every day life, but it seems like when they get to this crosswalk they throw all caution to the wind. Some are acting outright bizarre dodging traffic at this Abbey Road site as they try and capture that perfect pose on camera made famous by the “Fab Four.”
After watching the live-stream web cam for a few minutes you can see that during the Olympics, this Abbey Road tourist site is the prime place to fester road rage. The vehicles are making false stops to let all the people who are standing on either side of the road get across. Time and time again the pedestrians just wave the cars on as they’re only waiting for their chance to stand in the crosswalk. This odd ritual goes on all day!

When a traffic clearing finally does occur, the scramble starts as people anxiously wait their turn to stand in the middle of Abbey Road on the crosswalk. It’s amazing the number of people in a ten minute span of time that will stand on that cross walk with legs and arms in the same pose as the Beatles did almost a half of a century ago.
As described by Exploration Travel Magazine, web cams are all over the city of London and picking up images of the people, traffic and the beautiful sights of this historic city. Only the Abbey Road crosswalk webcam pretty much guarantees that you will see Beatles fans from around the world giving it a shot at getting in the middle of this busy road to strike the pose on the Abbey Road album cover!
