The legend continues, last Friday August 24th a new marker in Cocoa Beach was unveiled that was dedicated to the “I Dream of Jeannie TV” show. The timing was appropriate as it was Barbara Eden’s 78th birthday the day before.
A community’s love affair of this Jeannie from Hollywood has been exhibited throughout the decades starting with her first visit in June of 1969. Down through the years, the show and its cast has been remembered with visits and fond memories from the community of the Space Coast of Florida.
Unveiling the marker was Chairman of the Brevard Historical Commission Joe Morgan, County Commissioner Chuck Nelson and Senator Lori Wilson.
“The Brevard County Historical Commission extends its appreciation to a wonderful woman, the one and only Barbara Eden, who graced the television screen with spunk, spirit, and spellbinding beauty in “I Dream of Jeannie.” said historical commissioner Jeff Boston. “May you continue to grant the wishes of your legion of fans for many years to come.”
