LEGO bricks are often sprinkled on the floor of any given room in a house with children. The popularity of LEGO among children and adults alike continues to grow with the partnership with movie franchises, including Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
LEGO also is reaching out to young female builders with their Friends line. The Friends line includes female characters and LEGO houses and scenes for the character.
One of the largest LEGO festivals, BrickFair, is held in Northern Virginia for all ages. BrickFair will run from August 4 to August 5 at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly. The hours each day are from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $10. Please note that they do not allow strollers at Brickfair.
BrickFair will include LEGO models, displays and winding trains sprawled out over 100,000 square feet. Vendors will be offering all things LEGO, including shirts, hats, mini-figures, custom-molded weapons, unique models, keychains and anything imaginable.
So gather the kids and head for a fun, air-conditioned day with a ton of bricks.
