How your skin looks is partially due to genetics, but what if you could also find a product under $40.00 that claims to make you look ten years younger, in just four weeks? It isn’t science fiction, it’s here now. It’s from AVON, and it’s called: Anew Genics Treatment Serum.
There’s aren’t a lot of skincare products you can get these days that feature cutting edge technology, and that cost under $40.00 but Avon always seems to produce amazing products, at even more amazingly low prices. When this columnist was in graduate school, she too, was an Avon lady. Avon products work well, they are nicely presented, they’re pleasant to use, and they’re really priced shockingly low for what you get. There are so many people who have been loving Avon, and especially, the Anew skincare line for a long time.
The original ANEW Genics product debuted a while back. The inspiration was a University study in Italy of people who led extremely long lives. The study revealed that some people who live longer (past 100) have a highly active Youth Gene. Apparently,we all have it. So Avon scientists partnered with these researchers to discover a link between the Youth Gene and skin. They used that information to create Avon ANEW Genics.
What makes Anew Genics special is Avon’s YouthGen™ Technology that I just mentioned, designed to stimulate the Youth Gene to help skin cells act younger. At the time this column was written, Avon Anew Genics Treatment Serum was on special on the Avon Web Site, for $34.99, but the suggested retail price is still just $39.99 (there is also a Anew Genics Treatment Cream for $38.00). This lightweight serum absorbs very quickly with absolutely no residue. It has a bit of scent, a bit clean and floral (also a a bit chemical, like drugstore shampoo, but not unpleasant).
This columnist wasn’t able to use it for a month, as suggested, to see dramatic results (e.g. reduction in discolorations and wrinkles), but my skin felt immediately smoother and more hydrated. In fact, this product is supposed to boost skin’s moisture by up to 165%. The product really plumped up the skin, and felt smooth and soft in the first dose.
The packaging is also nice; an attractive, amber-tinted bottle with silver pump top, housed in an impressive, hard-sided “display” box of orange rimmed with silver. The presentation looks expensive, but of course, it’s Avon, so it’s affordable. Used night and day before any ANEW skin cream and before any ANEW night cream, after cleansing, you may see a reduction in the look of wrinkles, plus up to a 67% improvement in discolorations and 40% improvement in age spots (based on a consumer study of women 45-59).
There is a lot of hype surrounding anti-aging products. The technology is getting better by the minute, but my personal feeling is that in order to really see the nearly miraculous results claimed from high tech skin care, it has to do several things:
#1: it must be appropriate for your skin and you must chose the right products from your preferred line:
#2: you must use it consistently and as directed;
#3 you must be patient and keep your expectations realistic. There is really no potion on the market (that I know of yet) that can make a 60 year old with damaged skin look more like a 20 year old who has never encountered the sun (or hard times). Fall is the perfect time to revamp
#4: you must be willing to try something new. While some high tech skincare might blow your budget for a year, if it doesn’t work, Avon’s products are always budget-friendly, so they’re always worth a try. You can’t go wrong trying anything from ANEW, and Anew Genics! Summer is nearly over, time to start ANEW!
