The Asheboro Police Department answered 382 calls last week according to the Randolph County Emergency Services. These are just the calls that went through the 911-call center. According to the Asheboro Police Department’s website, the police department employees 78 sworn officers and seven non-sworn employees.

According to the United States Census website, Asheboro covers 18.5 square miles. It had a population in 2010 of 25,012 citizens. The census shows a population base of 1,349.7 people per square mile.
