- Chick-fil-A College Football Kickoff: August 31 – September 1- College football is back in a big way! Head down to the GA Dome to cheer on your beloved teams while proudly sporting your team’s colors. On August 31 watch Tennessee take on NC State or watch Auburn and Clemson battle it out on September 1. Tickets are still available for both games and can be purchased at Ticketmaster (MARTA is strongly recommended).
- Atlanta Braves/Philadelphia Phillies: August 31 – September 2 – Turner Field is the place to be if you’re in the mood for baseball. The Braves and the Phillies are locked in a 3 game series. To purchase tickets visit Atlanta Braves (MARTA is strongly recommended).
Dragon Con 2012: Starting August 31 – September 3, the annual science fiction and fantasy convention takes over Atlanta with its annual parade, workshops, film festival, art show and much more. - The AJC Decatur Book Festival: August 31 – September 2 – This 7th annual festival brings over 300 best-selling authors (including some Pulitzer Prize winners) of all genres in and around downtown Decatur for readings, talks, and panel discussions. Black Gay Pride: August 31 – September 3 – One of the world’s largest pride celebration’s for the African-American lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender takes place in numerous locations across the Atlanta area. Visit In The Life ATL for an extensive list of seminars, parties and other activities.
- Speakeasy Cocktail Festival: September 1 – September 2 – This is the inaugural year of this celebration of beer, wine, cigar and cocktail culture.
