Atlantic Station is back partnering with Georgia Tech on football weekends for Friday Night Fan Fests and game day shuttle service to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field.
It all starts on September 7.
This is a natural partnership for Atlantic Station as Georgia Tech is their neighbor to the south and Yellow Jacket fans, alumni and students are a perfect demographic for everything that Atlantic Station has to offer.
The games may be on Saturday, but the football weekends kick off on Friday.
Friday Night Fan Fests:
On Friday nights before the games beginning September 7, Atlantic Station will be transformed into Tech Town for Friday Night Fan Fest, which are pep rallies featuring the Yellow Jacket Marching band, everyone’s favorite mascot Buzz, Yellow Jacket cheerleaders, dance team and appearances by The Ramblin’ Wreck.
This also a way to indirectly promote fitness, sports and exercise to kids and teens that may strive to be college student athletes themselves.
The evening concludes with live music from some of Atlanta’s favorite local bands. The events last from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Central Park, with a shuttle running to and from the Georgia Tech campus from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
FREE Saturday game day shuttle service:
On game day Saturdays, fans can take advantage of plentiful parking in Atlantic Station, and catch the Stinger Shuttle to and from the game. The shuttle will run a continuous loop beginning 2 1/2 hours before kick-off and 1 1/2 hours after the game has ended.
The shuttle will pick up fans on East District Street in front of Z Gallerie, and will drop off at Third Street and Spring Street near Bobby Dodd Stadium. Fans can reserve space for RV parking through the Atlantic Station concierge.
After a big Yellow Jacket win, head back to Atlantic Station to celebrate. Fans can enjoy the addition of Meehan’s Public House and Yard House at Atlantic Station, which both offer big-screen televisions for viewing the games and wide selections of food and drinks. Georgia Tech students and faculty can also take advantage of discounts around Atlantic Station.
“Converting Atlantic Station into Tech Town for the football season was hugely successful last year,” said Liz Gillespie, director of marketing at Atlantic Station. “It’s great partnering with Georgia Tech and becoming part of the fans’ celebrations while cheering on our Yellow Jackets to victory.”
