Many used to turn their noses up at food trucks and walk right past them. Now, you can get some of the best food in the city from these trucks and for a fraction of the price of what you would pay in a restaurant. I’ll admit I was hesitant at first to buy my lunch from some guy sitting in a truck on a corner, but I’m so happy I got over it (my taste buds are pretty thrilled as well).
If you have a love of food trucks, or want to give them a shot, the International Food Truck and Beer Festival can be an excellent place to start. Taking place on Sunday, August 12 at the South Street Seaport, you can try a variety of international foods from some incredible food trucks including Takumi Taco, Morris Grilled Cheese Truck, and the Kimchi Taco Truck. If the accompanying photo is an indication of what you can expect, you’re in for quite the food experience. There’s also going to be a variety of beers to help you wash down all the delectable bites.
Should you purchase tickets through Living Social until August 5, they’ll cost you half the price than if you were to purchase on the iAdventure site. On LivingSocial.com, one ticket for $22 will get you three food truck tastes, two drinks, a map and sunglasses. For $28, you’ll get one ticket that allows for two non-food truck items, sunglasses, map and two drinks.
Lines are already long on a day-to-day basis at some of these trucks, so expect to stand in line at the International Food Truck and Beer Festival. However, it’ll be completely worth it. Delicious food and beer – how can you go wrong?
