The Binghamton Senators 2012-2013 schedule was released on Aug. 17, and one week later, there was a change announced. The home game originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 9, against the St. John’s IceCaps has been moved to Jan. 21 at 7:05 p.m.
It is not often that the American Hockey League has to announce a change that soon after the schedule is released, as it is a very painstaking undertaking and the league makes sure all the I’s are dotted and T’s crossed.
The change was necessary because the ice at the Broome County Arena was unavailable, due to a previously scheduled Disney On Ice show.
The preseason opens with a home game against the East Division rival Hershey Bears on Wednesday, Oct 3, at 7:05 p.m. The two teams will meet again on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:05 p.m. At the Giant Center in Hershey.
The three-game preseason closes out with a home game against the Albany Devils on Saturday, Oct. 6,at 7:05 p.m.
Binghamton will be looking to rebound from a disappointing 2011-2012 season that saw them finish last in the East Division and last in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 29-40-5-2 (65 points). This just one year after winning the first Calder Cup title in Binghamton hockey history.
They will begin that quest at home against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 7:05 p.m.
