The most famous sisters to come out of Severn, Md. are returning for a mini-season beginning in late summer.
WE tv has announced that “Braxton Family Values” – starring siblings Toni, Tamar, Trina, Traci and Towanda Braxton, along with their mom, Evelyn Braxton – are back for six all-new hour-long episodes to premiere Thursday, Aug. 16 at 9 p.m.
Below, a preview of each Braxton’s season 3 drama:
TONI: The search is on for new “doo-wop-pop-pop chicks” to replace her sisters as she prepares to follow up her latest single, “I Heart You,” with a new studio album. Toni enlists all four of her sisters to help find the new background singers, and of course Tamar takes over the auditions – even performing a hilarious, over-the-top impersonation of Toni singing “You Mean the World to Me” to test the new hopefuls.
TAMAR: The fertility route is harder than she expected. Still as comically narcissistic as ever, we’ll see her and hubby Vince’s struggle to have a baby, including serious consideration of Towanda’s offer to be their surrogate.
TRINA: Soon-to-be ex-husband Gabe has been kicked out of the house in the wake of last season’s divorce filing, but he’s still in communication with Trina due to the kids. She’s now trying to launch a solo career on the heels of her single she performed in the season 2 finale, “Party or Go Home.”
TOWANDA: Unlike Trina, Towanda has allowed her estranged, unemployed husband Andre to move into her new house for the sake of the kids. He’s neither feeling nor understanding her offer to carry Tamar’s baby, and strongly voices his objections.
TRACI: Her attempt to launch a hair salon here in the DMV was “a big bust,” she says. No longer satisfied with her “wannabe” title, Traci is trying to find her niche. She knows she wants to sing…and she’s still salty over being replaced as Toni’s background singer.
EVELYN: Fresh from calling off her wedding to Doc, “Mommy” is suddenly a life coach. We’ll see her advising clients under her newly-launched “Madaame” company and her efforts to expand the brand – not just throughout the ATL, but across the country, she says. With zero romantic feelings for Doc, she hopes to bring him in as a partner in Madaame.
