Viewers of “Bachelor Pad 3” knew they were in for a wild ride Monday evening, but nobody knew just how crazy things were really going to get. By the end of the night one guy and one girl were eliminated, but the path to that result was something the show has never seen before. How did all of the twists and turns fall into place during Episode 5 of “Bachelor Pad 3”?
As the show started out, Chris Bukowski, Kalon McMahon and Ed Swiderski were butting heads over alliances and votes. Chris knows he’s in trouble this week, and he is having trouble figuring out who he can trust. In the competition, Blakeley Shea wins for the girls while Tony Pieper wins for the guys. Chris was, essentially, losing his mind throughout most of the competition.
Blakeley decides to take Tony on her date, so they give Tony’s rose to Kalon. McMahon and Lindzi go on a very romantic date that includes a private bridge dinner and a Bentley. Kalon opens up to Lindzi and viewers have to admit they are pretty cute together. Blakeley and Tony end up with a far less extravagant date: camping. Shea is disappointed with the set-up at first, but ultimately they have a very good date together and spend the night in a camper.
Tony and Blakeley come back to the house having become a very solid couple. As they spend the night together, there is a lot of action happening back at the house too. Michael and Rachel spend time in the “boom boom room,” Lindzi and Kalon get romantic, Chris and Sarah hook-up, and whatever it is that Ed and Jaclyn are doing together continues.
Blakeley and Tony then have a rose they have to give to one of the girls. Chris is fighting for Sarah to get it, and he even interrupts the rose ceremony to talk to Tony again. Jaclyn ends up with the rose. Unfortunately as the evening progresses, Jaclyn’s feelings get hurt because Ed blows off their relationship in front of the rest of the group. They talk separately later, and he seems shocked that she might have thought they had anything more than a fling and game partnership.
Next Chris Harrison tells the group they are facing a twist. Everybody will vote for one girl to go home, and then she gets to decide which guy goes home. The main alliance in the house had planned to eliminate Sarah and Chris, but they quickly realize this won’t work. They know that Sarah will never take Chris with her, and she would probably target Michael. So, Michael hatches a plan. They will eliminate Erica, and lead her to believe that Chris was behind it.
Everybody in the house starts scrambling and talking to one another. Some are voting for Lindzi, which is what Chris Bukowski wants so he can get back at Kalon for switching votes the previous week. Erica catches wind she’s on the block, but she is convinced by others that Chris is behind it. Michael thinks his brilliant plan just might work, until Chris stumbles onto an idea that flips things around: he takes Erica into the deliberation room with him to show he’s voting for Lindzi.
With that, Erica now figures out that Michael, a friend, has lied to her. She is eliminated, and she goes into a very wild rant against Michael. She’s got very harsh words for him, and the house is stunned. Rachel hesitates and considers leaving now that Michael is leaving, which would have left Erica in the game. Rachel decides to stay, but she is left feeling brokenhearted.
The fall-out from this one should be epic next week. Erica broke up a big alliance and they are stuck with Chris in the game, but it definitely will not be smooth sailing from here on out. Tune in to “Bachelor Pad 3” Monday, Aug. 27 to see what happens after Erica Rose and Michael Stagliano leave.
