“Bachelor Pad” returned this week with 8 guys and 8 girls left, only two of them being “fans.” Did the fans survive another week? Or did the veterans finally get rid of them? Read on to find out.
This week’s challenge was an obstacle course set up to mirror a hot fudge sundae (but looked an awful lot like Wipeout, also airing on ABC.) The contestants were grouped off in pairs (NOT of their choosing) and the girls started it off by wading through an ice cream pool before climbing a rope, and sliding down a hot fudge slide before getting into potato sacks and dousing themselves with 5 cups of nuts. They then hopped to their partners, and the guys did the entire course backwards. Jamie got an incredible lead for the girls, but she was paired with Ed, who hasn’t been the most athletic guy, and they ended up coming in last with a vote against each of them. David, a fan, ended up neck in neck with Michael, and they had to look at the video before declaring David the winner. He and his partner, Rachel, each got a date with three suitors of their choice.
David’s date was first, and the date card mentioned something about a night to remember, so he invited Erica Rose, Blakeley, and Jamie on his date. They go to a theater and find out its prom night all over again. There’s a photo section, a dance floor, and even a no-name country singer all for them. Blakeley tries super hard to get the rose because she took him on her date last week, but he ended up giving the rose to Jamie to save her from elimination.
Rachel has been getting close with Michael for the past two episodes, so she of course invites him on her date along with Nick and Tony. They go to Madame Toussads wax museum where they dress up like wax figures and scare the schnitzel out of Bachelor fans. It’s all in good fun, and then Rachel, unsurprisingly, gives the rose to Michael.
Meanwhile, at the house, Reid is on a mission to get Ed out of the house. He’s still holding onto some resentment from their time on The Bachelorette, and figures since he didn’t get the job done last week trying to vote out Ed, he’s going to give it another try since Ed has yet another vote against him this week. Sarah felt bad about voting for Ed last week, so she decides to give him a heads up about Reid’s plan. Reid and Ed had just had a conversation about how they’re together on their choices, and so Ed is blown away by Sarah’s news. He attempts to confront Reid, who denies the entire thing before going to Jaclyn, Ed’s partner, and telling her his entire plan. She, of course, runs back to Ed, and they cook up a plan to get rid of Reid.
Oh, but Reid has formed an alliance with the nobodies, and their plan is to vote Ed and Blakeley out, while the other alliance is going for Reid and Donna. Kalon and Sarah turn out to be the swing vote, and they both go for the power couples’ alliance and vote Reid and Donna off. They are both shocked to hear their names, and Reid said on his way out that it was only a game. Well, big boy, it was a game you lost all on your own.
