The East Bay Vintner’s Association will be hosting the “Urban Wine Experience” on Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those who like to taste wine but don’t want to travel all over this weekend. That’s right wine tasters, this year’s event will be held in one location – the Rock Wall Winery in Alameda for the ultimate “Urban Wine Experience.”
With 17 participating wineries, attendees should have no problem choosing a favorite; so whether you’re a white or red fan and whether you like to mingle and taste or taste and dance – the wineries ensuring your good time at this year’s event include: Andrew Lane, Aubin Cellars, Blacksmith Cellars, Carica Wines, Cerruti Cellars, Dashe Cellars, Ehrenberg Cellars, Irish Monkey Cellars, LLC, JC Cellars, Prospect 772 Wine Co., R&B Cellars, Rock Wall Wine Company, Rosenblum Cellars, Stage Left Cellars, Stomping Girl Wines, Tayerle, Urban Legend and Urbano Cellars.
Each winery will pour three wines; guests may purchase bottles at the event with the offer of mix-and-match half-cases with an additional sweet deal of case discounts. Rumor has it that several wineries will have sales on some of their wines as well – so this might be the time to stock up for the holidays, or save one bottle for Thanksgiving and Christmas and no one has to know you actually bought a case. Indeed this is one Bay Area wine tasting event folks won’t want to miss.
Did I mention that Rock Wall Winery in Alameda has a large enough hanger space (50,000 square feet) to host this event? And according to Committee Chair Steve Shaffer, the hangers will be open so the gorgeous San Francisco skyline promises to be the ultimate event backdrop for guests for tasting, mingling and dancing.
As a special treat for those looking for a $10 discount to this event, the discount can be found at several participating restaurants in the area if obtained prior to the event. A discount of $10 is a fantastic discount, bringing advance tickets to $45 for this awesome event, so be sure to contact or visit these restaurants to obtain a code prior to midnight on Friday, August 17, 2012 – not to mention, it’s safer to eat a good meal and hang for awhile before that drive home.
