Farmer’s markets are popping up like daisies, and one of the newest arrivals is the Tuesday/Wednesday market at Bern’s Garden Center and Landscaping, 3776 Indian Ripple Road in Beavercreek.
Open from 3 to 6 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, this new market has three vendors but is seeking more. Big Skye Bread, Tom’s Garden Sauces, and the founding vendor from Rosemary Eisenhauer’s gardens are the current participants.
Last week’s offerings included Woman Sauce (hot) and Man Sauce (hotter) from Tom’s Garden, pizza bread, muffins, granola, cranberry orange bread and more from Big Sky Bread, and a variety of locally-grown produce from the gardens of Rosemary Eisenhauer. Greens, tomatoes, peppers, okra, onions, potatoes, carrots (purple carrots too!), and corn, all grown locally and organically were available at the Bern’s location, providing convenient shopping for Beavercreek residents. Samples were available, and the sellers are happy to answer any questions, whether about their growing conditions or perhaps why those carrots are purple!
Stop out to the Bern’s farmer’s market this week and see what’s available from your local growers and producers!
