Bill and Giuliana Rancic have their baby boy; they welcomed their son Edward Duke Rancic at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday night. The baby was born via gestational carrier in Denver. The little guy weighed in at 7 pounds and 4 ounces.
Giuliana and Bill decided to have to have the baby by gestational carrier after Giuliana’s fight with breast cancer, which she beat. The labor took a little over four hours and Bill and Giuliana were there for the entire event. Bill cut the umbilical cord and Giuliana got to hold their newborn son first. The baby is fine and said to have a big appetite already. He also took his first bath, according to E News.
A gestational carrier is a woman who carries the baby to birth after an embryo was implanted in her uterus, according to the Baby Center. The embryo is created from Giuliana’s egg and sperm from Bill, so the baby is 100 percent biologically Bill and Giuliana’s.
The couple couldn’t be happier and yes, they shed some tears of joy when the baby was delivered. Bill announced the birth on Twitter by posting, “The ‘Duke’ has landed! Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it!”
