A flash flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service, for the Capital Region, through Sunday morning. An upper level disturbance will slowly pass through the region during the day today, and into this evening, triggering showers and thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms may be slow movers, and have the capability of producing copious amounts of rainfall over a short period of time. It looks to be a muggy and humid day today, despite the fact that the sunshine may be limited due to the imminent threat of clouds and subsequent precipitation.
The entire swath of disturbed weather is forecast to move to the east of the region by Sunday morning, allowing for a gradual clearing and drying trend to take hold on Sunday as high pressure slowly builds in. Despite the waning of precipitation, it looks to remain somewhat muggy and humid still.
High pressure remains in control of the weather on Monday bringing a brief respite from the unsettled conditions. A warm front lifts northward through the region on Tuesday, renewing the threat for precipitation through midweek.
