The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the first film in the two-part fantasy adventure series directed by Peter Jackson. The film, based on J.R.R. Led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield, and accompanied with a group of dynamic Dwarves, they set out to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor stolen from the dragon Smaug. While journeying to the Lonely Mountain, Bilbo and his gaggle encounter a series of treacherous adventures. Faced with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers, the group’s determination is put to the test. Along the way Bilbo meets Gollum, a creature that will alter his life for eternity. The Museum is open seven days a week, 365 days a year; Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. with extended IMAX® hours on most evenings.
