Chanel has done it again. The latest in their foundation line, Perfection Lumiere, is indeed absolute perfection.
Recently, I reviewed the widely loved Vitalumiere Aqua, which I categorized as a great summer foundation. Perfection Lumiere is nothing like it, though it’s still beautiful and seamless. If a full-coverage “porcelain doll” look is what you seek, this is it. Chanel formulized this long-wearing and extremely blendable base to truly perfect the face. The first time I applied this, I was amazed at the result even without powdering. It covered so well with using minimal product. True to Chanel fashion, it’s quite expensive ($55) but is so extremely pigmented that one bottle can easily last a year.
It dries to a matte finish and it has a slight scent (the typical Chanel foundation scent—floral, but light). It’s not overwhelming and fades away in a few minutes. It comes in 20 shades with different undertones. The “Beige Rose” shades have a pink undertone and the regular Beige shades are more neutral. The best parts are that it’s completely oil-free, doesn’t break out my highly acne-prone skin, and contains SPF 10.
Go to your local counter and grab a sample so you can try it before taking the plunge. Way to go yet again, Chanel! You get 5 stars from me.
