It’s been nearly two decade since the untimely death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, but it seems Courtney Love refuses to let her husband rest in peace, determined to remind us all of the bond they once shared.
Love went on a Twitter tirade July 29 taking on Lana Del Rey for the singer’s rendition of “Heart-Shaped Box,” the first single off Nirvana’s 1993 “In Utero” album.
In a series of tweets captured via screenshot by Stereogum before their deletion, Love schooled Del Rey on the inspiration for the song informing the 26 year-old “You do know the song is about my vagina right?”
Love went on to cite the lyrics, “Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back,” while claiming she collaborated on the song adding, “on top of which some of the lyrics about my vagina I contributed.”
“So, umm, next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you?”
A good spirited Love later countered with a message for Del Rey which read, “You are gorgeous and very talented, it was all in good humor love, it is true however bwahaa.”
Del Rey just wrapped up a weeks worth of dates in Australia supporting the “Born To Die” LP.
