Demi Lovato, singer, actress and judge of “The X Factor,” will host “Teen Choice 2012,” airing live on Sunday, July 22, 2012 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), according to an announcement from Fox Television Network. Fox also announced that Cat Deeley has been scheduled to appear.
The live special will feature performances by popular stars Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, No Doubt and DJ Pauley D.
“Teen Choice” will also feature appearances by teen favorites, including Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Miley Cyrus, Zooey Deschanel, Ellen DeGeneres, Jason Derulo, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, Josh Hutcherson, Victoria Justice, Laura and Vanessa Marano, Bridgit Mendler, Lea Michele, Shay Mitchell, Tyler Posey, Gordon Ramsay, Dax Shepard, Sophia Grace and Rosie, Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift.
Teens aged 13-19 can vote for their favorite nominees on the Teen Choice website. Teens can vote once each day per category through 11:59 PM PT on Saturday, July 21.
Singer and actress Demi Lovato started in show business as a pre-teen and rose quickly. By the time she was 15, she was a bona fide TV star cultivating a promising singing career. Lovato is currently on her U.S. summer tour. The popular star will serve as one of the judges on “The X Factor,” along with Britney Spears and Simon Cowell. “The X Factor” premieres its second season Wednesday, September12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, September 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
At Teen Choice 2011, Lovato was the recipient of the inaugural Acuvue® Inspire Award, in recognition of her work with the Jed Foundation’s Love is Louder movement. She continues to inspire teens this year in her role as a celebrity mentor for the Acuvue® 1-Day Contest, showing them that they too can fulfill their dreams.
