The 2012 Students For Liberty Dallas Regional Conference comes to Denton on Saturday, October 13.
Organizers are promising that attendees will get to…
- Hear from top speakers in the libertarian movement,
- Network with other pro-liberty students
- Discover countless opportunities for jobs, internships, conferences and seminars,
- And have a lot of fun with other students all the while.
Continuing to blatantly steal directly from the Facebook page and the Students For Liberty website, “This day-long event will feature tremendous speakers, panels, and breakout sessions on the ideas behind a free society and the actions necessary to implement them.”
The keynote speaker will be Michael Strong who co-founded Freedom Lights Our World (FLOW) along with Whole Foods Market CEO John Mackey, and serves as FLOW’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Visionary Officer.
FLOW (now plagiarizing quotes from their website) “combines freedom, voluntary exchange and enterprise from the classical liberal tradition with love, compassion, social and environmental consciousness that is championed in the human potential movement in order to create an inspiring, integrated vision.”
Or to put it in non-plagiarized libertarian terms, “laissez-faire is good for you.”
The Dallas Regional Conference takes place on the University of North Texas campus in Denton and is hosted by the UNT Young Americans for Liberty.
While the conference is still two months away the event’s Facebook page shows 92 people signed up under the “Going” heading at this writing.
But event organizers offer this warning: “Keep in mind that attending this event on Facebook DOES NOT guarantee you a spot at the conference.”
If you don’t register for this free event you won’t get the “three free meals and drinks at our evening social.”
And that, to many college students, might be even worse than missing those “top speakers in the libertarian movement.”
So be sure to clip this out and tack it on your dorm wall. Well, okay, copy and paste it onto a Sticky Note and post it on your desktop:
