The first group of semifinalists gave impressive performances last night. Unfortunately, only three acts will be able to the finale, which will air in two Tuesdays. We have seen some of these acts grow and mature since their initial audition and it will be very hard to see some of them go tonight but whatever their fate may be, all of them have bright futures ahead of them. So who will perform for the $1,000,000 prize and a headlining gig in Las Vegas? Read on to find out….
Before any results were revealed comedian Steve Harvey appeared on the America’s Got Talent stage and commented on several of the acts. He thought that Joe Castillo was very unique, was impressed by Edon’s singing and stated that comedian Tom Cotter was very funny and clever and wished him well. After Steve left the stage, Nick brought out Turf, Joe Castillo and the Scott Brothers to reveal the first result. Each of these acts received a “looks the same comment” from Howard Stern but it was not up to him it was up to the viewers. The viewers decided to elect Joe into the Top 4.
Three fan-favorites: Andrew De Leon, William Close and the Academy of Villains were the second group to receive the results. All three of these acts blew the audience away with their respective performances and deserved to go into the finale. However, only William Close would be one step closer to achieve his dream. The third group contained acts that stunned both the judges and the audience. Each time Edon, Donovan and Rebecca and Todd Oliver appeared on the show they have gotten better and better. Unfortunately, Donovan, Rebecca and Edon were sent packing while Todd Oliver still waited to see if he was going through to the finale.
After an impressive performance by Neon Trees, it was time for Bria Kelly, Dittelman and Tom Cotter to learn their fate. Tom’s act was very impressive and his material was so rich while Bria’s cover of P!nk’s “Perfect” was strong but only got support from Howard Stern. Meanwhile, Dittelman’s trick was stunning and earned a standing ovation from all three judges. However, America gave the final spot in the Top 4 to Tom Cotter, whose goal was to be the first comedian to win this show.
With the acts chosen, it was time to reveal who was going to duke it out in the finale. The first two spots in the finale were William Close and Tom Cotter. Before the final spot was revealed, it was revealed that the Judges would get the final spot in the finale. After Todd Oliver and Joe Castillo said their closing arguments, the Judges made their decision. The King of All Media decreed that he would see Todd Oliver and Irving in the finale but he was outvoted by Howie and Sharon that Joe Castillo should go on to the finale.
Next week, the remaining 12 acts will battle it out for the last three spots in the finale.
