After the second of three phases the riders at the top have changed in the eventing at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Leading in the teams is Germany with 124.70 points, followed by Great Britain (130.20), Sweden (131.40), New Zealand (133.40) and the United States (155.20).
Individually the top riders have also changed after a challenging cross-country course. Ingred Klimke from Germany riding Butts Abraxxas is now tied with Sara Algotsson Ostholt from Sweden on Wega both with 39.30 penalty points. On their heels is two-time Olympic gold medalist Mark Todd from New Zealand with 39.50 penalty points. He is riding his 10 year old Campino.
Right behind him is the 2010 World Equestrian Games champion from Germany, Michael Jung riding Sam wtih 40.60 penalty points.
The final phase on Tuesday is show jumping and one dropped rail can make the difference between the medal placings. Both the team and individual medals will be presented following the show jumping.
