Kimberly Home Adoptions is a local Tampa Bay organization that matches families hoping to adopt a child with birth mothers. Their website contains a lot of information which could be overwhelming viewed all at once. With the jQuery Collapse-O-Matic plugin for WordPress they were able to consolidate the information on their pages. It’s there when needed, but not immediately visible.
jQuery Collapse-O-Matic works great for question and answer or FAQ type pages. In the case of Kimberly Home Adoptions, section titles on the Families page hide the information, and on the Home page answers are hidden under the questions.
This is an easy way to add interactivity to your website, allowing visitors to click to reveal more information without having to leave the page they are on.
All you have to do is install the plugin, and place this code around the question or section title you wish to expand
[expand title=”QUESTION or TITLE”]
followed by the answer or additional information, and closed with [/expand].
jQuery Collapse-O-Matic works fine right out of the box, but you can customize it, for instance on the Kimberly Home Adoptions site, the Collapse-O-Matic expand and collapse arrows were replaced with hearts to match the bullets on the site.
