While it may seem like an interesting choice, to say the least, former Disney Channel star Shia LaBeouf has been a hot topic of conversation for the casting role of Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie.
According to “Gather Entertainment” this Thursday, star Robert Pattinson of the “Twilight Saga” recently had some positive words to say about fellow actor Shia LaBeouf as a potential casting choice in the much anticipated film. He said this week that Shia has what it takes to be Christian Grey through his experience with nude scenes on the big screen, as well as his willingness to “do anything” to help give justice to a part.
While the past “Evens Stevens” star may be most known for the popular “Transformers” series, “Gather Entertainment” has of late been making a transformation from working with machines to rather graphic sex scenes with female cast stars.
Though many Hollywood men are likely more than capable of stripping down as Christian Grey with a lovely Anastasia Steele of their own, it is true that Shia may have more experience than others with his next movie. As the male lead in “Nymphomaniac”—if the title itself doesn’t tell “50 Shades” fans something—Shia has gone from child star to explicit movie actor in the Lars von Trier film.
“Books and Review” also recently quoted actor Robert Pattinson as possibly supporting Shia LaBeouf as a Christian Grey casting choice.
“I love Lars’ films. I think he’s great. It’s bold and brave. Shia did that [nude scene] video already … and would ‘do anything’ for a part.”
Yet LaBeouf himself reported in an interview that he was done with studio movies for a time, so it is unknown if he might accept the Christian Grey casting part (if he was ever offered it, says the source site). Nonetheless, “Books and Review” does report that there has been a sudden “surge” of support in landing the role from certain female fans.
A “Fifty Shades of Grey” film poll by “Policy Mic” this week left Shia LaBeouf out of the fan favorite running—and certainly has a lot of competition—against talented actors who were voted in, including Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, Ryan Gosling, and Henry Cavill.
Do the great fans of “50 Shades” feel that Shia LaBeouf might make a solid Christian Grey, or should the talented actor focus on other films?
