Have you ever provided a meal for a get together, friend, relative, or member of an organization and never gotten back your favorite Pyrex, then too embarrassed, didn’t ask for the dish back? Don’t feel bad it happens to the best of us. The worry free way to ease your conscience is to stock up on used ones.
Don’t worry about it ever again, next time you go to an estate sale, garage sale or thrift store, head for the kitchenware. You can often find cookware at unbeatable prices, prices you can’t afford to pass up. Keep your favorite dishes, and by stocking up on used ones, you will have the freedom of providing a meal without worrying about getting the dish back.
Your host, friend, or relative will love the meal you provided and not have to worry about returning the dish when the occasion is over. This is especially fun to do for bridal showers. If it is a covered dish affair, you can bring an extra gift by bringing your share of the meal in a dish the new bride can keep. Make sure you tag the bottom of the dish so at clean up the dish will go to the new bride’s kitchen.
This also works well for festive occasions. If you are one to bring food, you will love this idea. But be sure to look for quality, you might even try craigslist if you have a specific item in mind. Glass bowls, decorative bowls, and pyrex casseroles all work well, added bonus if a lid is included. If buying a decorative bowl make sure it is not just decorative but can be used for food. Try it you’ll be glad you did!
