Bill and Giuliana Rancic’s baby was born on Wed., Aug. 29, 2012 via gestational carrier. Edward Duke Rancic was delivered at 10:12 p.m. in Denver, Colo., People reported. The happy couple announced the news on Thursday morning in a Twitter message that proclaimed, “The ‘Duke’ has landed! was welcomed into the world last night at 7lbs 4oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it!”
Giuliana Rancic makes a living as a news anchor for “E! News” and co-host of the snarky show about celebrity style, “Fashion Police.” Bill Rancic got his first taste of fame when he won Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice.” Together, they also star in their own reality television series, which is aptly named “Giuliana and Bill.”
Due to 37-year-old Giuliana’s health issues, she was unable to conceive, carry and deliver a child herself. She struggled with fertility issues and had a miscarriage before being diagnosed and treated for breast cancer.
The proud couple was present in the delivery room when their gestational surrogate gave birth, and Bill was even able to cut the umbilical cord. Giuliana was the first person to hold her son after his celebrated arrival into the world.
