This year’s annual Grand Rapids Food Allergy Walk will be centrally located at Riverside Park in the heart of Grand Rapids. Amist the hustle and bustle of Art Prize, walkers will have the opportunity to see the Food Allergy Art Prize entry, at GRCC’s Spectrum Theater, after the walk is completed.
Walkers are asked to get donations per mile walked or as a flat donation. All proceeds go to the West Michigan non-profit food allergy group, RFAN. The offices of Grand Rapids Allergy and RFAN (Rockford Food Allergy Network) are hosting the event with the help with multiple sponsors. Taking into consideration what has worked well in the past and what needed improvement, the Grand Rapids Food Allergy Walk team has organized a fun filled event for this September.
There will be a one mile walk in the heart of Grand Rapids to finish out the walkers pledges. Afterward, walkers can participate in various carnival games and kid activities. Children and teams can also decorate their own sign to carry during the walk if they arrive early.
No walk is complete without information take aways and experts to answer your questions. At the walk, there will be information tables and even an “ask the doc” table staffed by allergists from Grand Rapids Allergy.
The opportunity to generate awareness and understanding for food allergies will be amplified this year with our central location and Art Prize entry. Come be a part of West Michigan’s largest fundraiser for food allergies and register as a walker or team today!
