343 Industries released information Wednesday on the controller layouts that will be available for Halo 4 when it launches for the Xbox 360 this November. There’s even a Call of Duty friendly control scheme.
There are seven control schemes in all with returning favorites such as Bumper Jumper and Recon along with new layouts as well. Giving all players the ability to sprint in Halo 4 without the need for a an armor ability threw in the need for another button but 343 Industries said they tried to stay true to the classic presets in a Halo Bullentin post.
Fishstick is one of the interesting new additions and is described as being “beneficial to those coming from other FPS games.” This is a clear nod to the Call of Duty series as, aside from the slightly humorous cod = fish reference, the button layout is similar to what you find in the Modern Warfare or Black Ops titles.
Halo 4 is set for release on November 6. We expect more news to come out of PAX Prime this weekend as 343 Industries will be there with demos and plans to show a new gametype and weapons.
