Josh Hinton was sworn in by Judge Kelley S. Powell to fill the remainder of former board member Brian Preston’s term at the monthly Henry County Schools Board of Education study session.
Hinton lives in Hampton Georgia, and is a life-long resident of Henry County, a graduate of Henry County High School, and Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. He is a local insurance agent, working in the industry for the past nine years.
“I am excited to serve District 2 and Henry County in this new role,” said Hinton. “I ran for this seat to provide common sense answers and solutions for our schools, and I am ready to get to work.”
I am grateful for the support of those who voted for me and will work for all constituents to ensure our students are provided with the best education.”
In February this year, the four current school board members stated they would wait for the July election results to fill Preston’s vacant seat. Hinton won the non-partisan election with a majority of the vote for District 2, no run-off required.
Hinton will be sworn in, in January 2013 for his first full term in office.
