The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE on Verizon is a good smartphone for someone looking at devices with Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) and a manageable, four-inch display. The Droid Incredible is a quick device, with a solid camera, and Beats Audio built in.
With a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE has the power to efficiently manage ICS and the features it brings. It is a little slower than some of its competitors, but the screens switch smoothly while paging through apps and launching the basic ones.
The call quality on the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is very good on the Verizon 4G LTE network. Whether driving through Nashville or in a stationary building downtown, both the caller and the recipient sounded clear. During some short tests, the device maintained a strong connection with no digitization or dropping.
The device is around the same length as an iPhone 4 and 4S. While the 4” super LCD screen is of decent quality, it is not as clear or bright as the iPhone or the slightly more expensive Samsung Galaxy S III. The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE features 960-by-540-pixel resolution, which makes for easy web browsing and running the quality apps in the Google Play store.
With an 8-megapixel, auto-focus camera, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, provides a good picture-taking experience. There was very little shutter lag while snapping shots inside and outside. There were times though that the colors looked a little brighter or saturated, especially outdoors. This may be due to the lack of a dedicated image sensor like the HTC One.
The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE also features Beats Audio that helped most music sound richer and provide for a deeper bass. This feature is on by default and can be used through the headphone jack and Bluetooth.
To take advantage of the music, camera, and ability to run the apps on the Google Play store, you will need more storage than the 8GB that is onboard. Luckily, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE has expandable storage under the back cover where a microSD card can be added.
For those looking for a solid phone on Verizon’s fast 4G LTE network, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is a phone worth considering. Even the mobile hotspot demonstrated strong speeds in Nashville with little impact on maintaining a solid connection. Pandora played without drops from downtown to the northern suburbs.
While Verizon is offering this phone for $149.99 with a two-year contract, check out other retailers for lower device costs. If you are in the market for a larger phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III may be a phone to consider. Check out the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE and compare its experience with the other larger phones. It may provide you with a decent alternative at a lower price and a solid performance.
