College football gets into full swing tonight with some high profile games on the ESPN network. Unfortunately, Hurricane Isaac has caused cancellations in Louisiana, while residents try to survive the two day storm. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will have to wait until October 13th for their chance at a monumental upset over SEC newcomer, Texas A&M. Citing concerns for the safety of fans and the entire student body, officials thought it was best to reschedule the game at a later date.
As of now, the Superdome has withstood Hurricane Isaac, thus plans for the Rutgers, Tulane game Saturday night have not been changed. Rutgers will have to fly into an open airport on Friday if the game goes on as scheduled.
Hurricane Isaac’s reach has been felt in Corvallis, Oregon. The Oregon State Beavers have postponed their match with Nicholls State. Due to the inclement weather, Nicholls State will not be able to fly to the Pacific Northwest for Saturday’s contest. Both schools are in the process of rescheduling the game. Oregon State now has to open up against the mighty Wisconsin Badgers, without the Nicholls State tune up.
Preseason title contenders, LSU Tigers are full steam ahead with their preparation for the game against North Texas on Saturday. North Texas was on the schedule seven years ago when hurricane Katrina thrashed the Gulf Coast.
