Mariah Sachse, a 14 year old celiac disease patient from Las Vegas, NV, was recently crowned National American Miss Nevada State Ambassador. Mariah is the only chronically ill Junior Teen competitor whose goal is to become the National Ambassador and support the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation by raising awareness of celiac disease. To accomplish this task she needs support from the gluten-free community.
According to Mariah, she has also struggled with many other disorders such as thyroid disease, Crohn’s disease, osteopenia, iron deficiency anemia, cardiac troubles, and adrenal issues. “I am hoping that other young people will get inspired by my journey, hard work, and dedication and that I can show them that they can accomplish their dreams and anything they set their minds to, regardless of the obstacles that stand in their way.”
Here is how you can support Mariah:
- Advertise your business, service or organization through National American Miss. Ad space is tax deductible and must be submitted by September 21st. Ad block pricing is inexpensive and it is a great way to promote your company/service: 1/10 page (2 x 3.5 inches) – $60, 2/10 page – $120, 3/10 page – $180, 4/10 page – $240, ½ page – $300, Full Page – $600.
- Consider sponsoring Mariah in the national competition, where she will compete for national titles in Miss All-American Teen, Miss Top Model, Miss Photogenic, Spirit of America, and Outstanding Community Service.
- The last way is to share her information, which is what I am doing right now.
Mariah is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Mrs. Alaska International, Brandy Wendler and Mrs. United States Shannon Ford, so let’s support her as she takes center stage to raise awareness about celiac disease.
