The new iPhone 5 still has no confirmed release date, but as in the past, the rumor mill is bubbling. When is iPhone 5 coming out? How will it look and what features will be new? All these questions are usually asked at the presentation of new smartphones by Apple. But one thing is certain: The competition (Samsung) never sleeps and has already gained market dominance and Apple is now a challenger.
As Pocketnow writes, the pressure on Apple is immense. This time, bigger than before, because since the introduction of the first iPhone in 2007 a lot has happened. Sales of Samsung’s Galaxy SIII and the position of the South Korean company in the smartphone market exert pressure on all other manufacturers, especially on Apple. The expectations of the company are already so large that many say the iPhone 5 can not just be good, but must be much better than the iPhone 4s in order to beat Galaxy SIII.
Pocketnow even thinks that the foundation for all of today’s smartphones was built by the iPhone. Back then Microsoft executives and senior RIM employees laughed at the relatively expensive iPhone, but in a renowned short time the device had been widely accepted by consumers. Driven by the desire to develop a better device, the competition got to work. According to Steve Jobs, with the introduction of the iPhone in 2007 the competition will be tremendous in five years, these five years have now passed.
Requests for changes
Some analysts say the new iPhone will not be good enough if it is only launched with iOS 6. Some even compare iOS with the demise of the BlackBerry OS and Windows Mobile 6, because their developers have shown no willingness to move away from “familiar things” and create something new. IOS has become boring, according to many, unlike Android’s Jelly Bean. The design also has to change, specifically quad-core processors and a change in appearance are urgently needed.
The iPhone 5 release date is still pending confirmation by Apple. The general consensus seems to have arrived at a Sept. 12th announcement and a release to follow on Sept. 21st. Whether it actually gets a new screen, new software or hardware, Apple usually keeps this information a secret. The expectations of media, industry insiders and consumers, however, is higher than it was five years ago. Please make sure you subscribe to receive the latest iPhone 5 release date news.
