July 6th, wine shops are open, not all, so taste wine in Portland on Friday

by ping roof

It’s a long weekend, national holiday, lots of fun, fireworks, festivals, family gatherings and barbeques…. Gathering with family, friends, new friends… when we all put aside differences and gathering as Americans… now, what’s better then a red pinot noir, a white Pinto Grigo and a blue sky to put a smile on our faces.

This Friday has only a handful of tastings. An update for next week will post on Monday, the 10th of July, as several are scheduling mid week tastings, along with the usual which hold tasting on days, other than Friday.

Please treat your self, and maybe some family and/or friends to an in-city wine tasting excursion… It’s always time to discover a new aspect of your own taste, for wine.

As always, BE SAFE!

Woodstock Wine & Deli website in transition

4030 SE Woodstock Blvd
“This Friday will be week 2 of California Zinfandel.

“We’ll do our 2-glass tasting format with your ratings so help us ferret out the best ones for the money in PDX. Zinfandel for another week then Malbec after that. This Saturday will be our first outdoor BBQ of 2012 since the open weekends for the Deli have been forecasted with showers. The one wine that comes up (from wine press) with BBQ more than anything is domestic Zinfandel.

“Usually there’s wine left from Friday night tasting and it’s gassed with argon. Come try it with our first outdoor cook of the season, which includes chicken that we cannot do on rainy days!”
