“Fifty Shades of Grey” fans will have the rare chance this fall to tune in and see author EL James on the small screen for an exclusive interview with the former “Today” anchor Katie Couric.
In most recent “50 Shades” news, it was announced this Wednesday morning that with Katie Couric’s return as talk show host on TV this September, she would have an impressive guest list to chat with. And according to “The Hollywood Reporter” this week, one of the first guests expected to star on the new show will be none other than “Fifty Shades of Grey” author, EL James.
Katie Couric is set to make her way to national TV screens this September 10 with many other famous, household, and downright interesting names this fall season. In addition to EL James being rumored to be one of the first on the lineup, the new show host will feature a wide variety of women in positions of power, influence, and talent.
Some of the confirmed guest stars on the cast list for “Katie” include Sheryl Crow, Jessica Simpson, Sofia Vergara of “Modern Family,” singers Jennifer Lopez and Barbra Streisand, as well as Aimee Copeland, a graduate student who has overcome—and is still working through—great struggle after losing parts of her limbs to a flesh-eating bacteria.
Later on in the season, Susan Sarandon, Chelsea Handler, Heidi Kum, and Wendy Williams are also some names fans can expect to see on “Katie.”
As for EL James’ appearance, little has been confirmed on what will be discussed for the exclusive interview. Anything from hotly awaited news on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie to the trilogy’s 50 shades of success as a bestselling book is fair game, so fans of the down-and-dirty series will no doubt want to tune in to that particular episode.
Katie Couric revealed in July that she wanted her new show to not just feature the same movie stars and well-known female figures, but offer some interesting segments as well. Some of these new additions she would like to incorporate into her show include “Women Who Should be Famous” for extraordinary women who have made great strides in life and for “remarkable feats,” as well as pieces focused on the popular modern adage “YOLO — You Only Live Once.”
It was also recently revealed this week that the bestselling British author is interested in making the confirmed “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie into a trilogy of films as well for her fans. With rumors also swirling on a potential fourth book in the series, James’ interview with Katie Couric is no doubt the start to a successful September for the author.
