Keeping it Real-
Human nature is a strange thing. The things that are the best for us tend to get pushed to the side in lieu of things that aren’t as important or good for us. Long gone are the days when every meal is cooked at home with love and with great home grown ingredients; that is until Noodles & Company came onto the scene in the early 90’s.
With busy lives we are forced to eat more and more meals outside the home and we are putting our trust in the restaurants/chefs/proprietors where we choose to dine. For a lot of folks, anything will do just as long as we get it cheap and in warp speed.
For those who choose to make healthier choices the selection process is pretty narrow. There are even fewer options where the food is fresh, tasty, affordable and more choices than an old, tired, iceberg salad.
Noodles and Company takes their food preparation very serious. Fresh produce comes through the door as it was packed from the farm, not pre-cut in plastic bags. Sauces are made fresh and dishes are made to order, not sitting pre-packed or wrapped.
It is rare that a multiple restaurant concept has the dedication to quality like a Noodles & Company. It was designed and is maintained by a group of loyal people who believe in great fresh food and deliver it every time to every guest.
Keeping it Fresh-
Noodles & Company also has their “Travel the Globe” menu which has nineteen dishes and dozens of combinations that are 500 calories or less. Options range from noodles and sandwiches, to soups and salads with flavors from Asia, the Mediterranean and America. The “Travel the Globe” chart on the Noodles & Company website shows all of the combinations and lists the calories for each option.
With temperatures sky rocketing past 100 degrees already this summer, Noodles & Company Executive Chef Tessa Stamper has created three seasonal limited-time only salads that are sure to refresh. If you ask me, Chef Tessa did a little showing off with these masterpieces. Being a salad freak, I had to check out each one of them for myself, the first thing I got from each one? Freshness…each one is made fresh to order and only when it is ordered. Noodles & Company not only cuts their own produce but they do it at least twice a day for maximum freshness, and it tastes like it.
My personal favorite is the Backyard Barbecue Chicken Salad. It is made with mixed greens, shredded red cabbage, roma tomatoes, pulled chicken breast and corn that is shucked right in the restaurant and comes with a smokey cole slaw dressing on the side. Now tell me how many fast casual restaurants do you think are shucking their own corn in house? Not many, if any at all.
The Spinach and Fresh Fruit Salad comes with a killer combination of strawberries, bacon, pecans, blue cheese and a balsamic fig drizzle, this salad is about as refreshing as any meal could be.
The Chili-Lime Ginger Salad with Seared Chicken tastes like a spring roll in a bowl. The dressing is a perfect balance of lime, ginger and just the right amount of kick from the chili. This salad is made with lots of fresh vegetables like mixed greens, red bell peppers, cucumber, red onions and topped with rice noodles, crispy wonton strips and tender seared chicken.
Remember these salads are only around for a limited time so make sure you get your fill because when summer is gone so are these salads…and you will have to wait all winter to try them again.
