The long weekend, and the end of summer clearance that come along with it, make for Colorado Springs antique and thrift shopping fun. What’s your pleasure: flea market, vintage market, or thrift store? Here are my top picks for this weekend for each:
- American Classics Marketplace 6th Annual Labor Day Outdoor Flea Market takes place in the parking lot in front of the store 8 am – 3 pm, Saturday only, September 1. In addition to all the great stuff being sold in booth spaces out front there will be sales going on throughout the store, which is our area’s largest antique mall.
- Feel like getting out of town a bit? Head up to Littleton to catch the next-to-last A Paris Street Market of the year, Saturday only. It takes place at the Aspen Grove Shopping Center beginning at 8 am, 7301 South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton.
- ARC thrift stores are having a Labor Day Sale, with 50% off most items on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 1-3. For locations and descriptions of Colorado Springs ARC stores, click here and here.
Shopping tip: take your camera and, with the vendor’s permission, photograph whatever antique or thrift items make you laugh out loud. I’ll be running a feature of reader picks in the coming weeks!
