Two triathlons and a kids’ Splash-N-Dash bring nearly 900 athletes to Lake George Village this Labor Day weekend. The Lake George Triathlon Festival begins Saturday, 7 a.m. on Beach Road with the 7th annual Lake George Triathlon – .9 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike route, 6.2 mile run.
Registration for the Kids’ Splash-N-Dash opens at 11:30 a.m. at the race site (Battle Field Park). The race begins at 1:30 p.m. The Splash-N-Dash is divided into two categories: Children ages 6-10 complete a 50-yard swim and a half-mile run; children ages 11 – 14 complete a 100 yard swim and one mile run. Entrance fee is $10. All participants will receive a t-shirt.
Sunday, tri-athletes will tackle the Big George Triathlon – 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike route, 13.1 mile run. The race begins at 7 a.m. The events are USA Triathlon sanctioned.
Stone Revival Band, Shepard Park, Lake George, Friday, 7 p.m. Improv Records presents this American blues rock band as part of the Fridays at the Lake concert series. Admission is free.
Bolton Landing Emergency Squad Arts & Crafts Festival, Rogers Memorial Park, Lakeshore Drive, Bolton Landing, September 1 and 2, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. More than 35 vendors are expected. Free admission. Parking at the park is $5; free parking on the road, at the Town Hall and in the parking lot across the street from the Bolton Chamber of Commerce.
Bolton Landing Labor Day Celebration, Saturday, September 2, Rogers Memorial Park, Lakeshore Drive. Performance by Collette and the Mudcats – blues that rock, 5 – 8 p.m. followed by fireworks. Admission is free.
D & H Rail Fair, North Creek Depot, Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tour the historic depot’s museum, model railroad exhibit, vendors. Admission for both days is $8, $10 for families.
