As we continue to look for ways to enhance our young children’s learning, Los Angeles Public Library has a wonderful summer event and web based learning on their website.
By clicking on this link, you will have access to events that are occurring in the Los Angeles region at various library branches.
Various reading sessions and story times are present at different dates listed. Children are able to attend and participate in these events.
What I wanted to review was their site for preschool learning. http://www.lapl.org/kidspath/preschool/
The above link has shows various characters that children can relate with, that allows them to read online stories, watch videos or clips, and listen to books on videos as well. It is ideal for pre-K – 3rd grade and helps the development and learning method for children. Of course with limited screen time, it allows children to engage in different ways to enjoy reading. There are also various categories for kids and for parents. What was also interesting about this site was that if you scroll to the bottom of that link, you will find a section for special needs and problem solving. This is also impressive in the fact that it not only focuses on children to help enhance, but it concentrates on children who might be falling behind, or need extra assistance.
