There’s a new park in town and it’s called the Cumberland Park. This park is got pretty much everything you need to enjoy a fun filled day or a romantic evening. Located at 592 South 1st Street across the river in downtown Nashville, it’s right next door to LP Field and the main entrance is under the Shelby Street walk bridge. The Park is open from Dawn til 11pm but the bridge stays open 24/7. There is a Security presence whether it’s from the Security Guards or the Park Police you can feel more safe.
With river frontage of the Cumberland River it’s a wonderful site. The general Jackson is always making it’s passes up and down the river. There’s a pavilion that’s lit in beautiful colors and has entertainment from time to time. There is public restrooms, food concessions and a Park Office on site. A water spray area that’s open during the Summer Months keeps all who want a break from the heat nice and cool.
At night the park can be a romantic walk with that special friend. The elevator that leads to the top of the walking bridge (Shelby Street Bridge) changes colors of beautiful Blue, yellow, green, red and purple, the stairs on the Bridge Building are lit with rope lights to help see your way to the top. There’s soon to be a great dining experience to be had from a Restaurant in the building as well.
So whether you want to go and walk or relax * Cumberland Park is a great place to go.
