The title of One Direction’s second album has now been revealed: It’s called “Take Me Home.” The information was accidentally leaked on iTunes on August 29, 2012. And just like “Up All Night” (One Direction’s first album), there will be a regular version and a deluxe version of “Take Me Home.”
Nova FM in Australia has screen shots of the album information, which was quickly deleted from iTunes after the leak was discovered.
The deluxe version of “Take Me Home” will have 12 tracks and four bonus videos (all to be determined), according to the screen shots. The four bonus videos could be “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Gotta Be You,” “One Thing” and “Live While We’re Young,” or the four videos could be concert videos.
Sources say the entire track listing of One Direction’s second album is still to be determined, since One Direction is still recording the album.
The screen shots also listed the Australian release date for “Take Me Home” as November 9, 2012, which means it could be released in the U.S. and Canada on November 6 or November 13, 2012, and in other countries on November 5 or November 12, 2012.
“Live While We’re Young,” the first single from the album, has already broken Sony Music’s record for the fastest-selling pre-ordered single. “Live While We’re Young” is set for release in the U.S. and Canada on October 1, 2012, and in other countries on September 30, 2012.
One Direction filmed the music video for “Live While We’re Young” in Kent, England, on August 23 and August 24, 2012. The video is expected to premiere shortly before the release of the single. As previously reported, the video will include scenes of One Direction on water slides and will show attractive female models shooting water pistols at the guys in One Direction.
Sony Music has officially stated that One Direction’s second album will be released worldwide in November 2012, on dates to be announced.
I contacted One Direction’s publicists at Sony Music, and so far there has been no official comment about “Take Me Home” being the title of One Direction’s second album. If they have any official comment, I will update this story.
One Direction came in third place on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2010. Since then, the group has had No. 1 hits and sold-out tours in several countries. As of the end of July 2012, One Direction’s worldwide sales for albums, singles and DVDs totaled 12 million, according to Sony Music.
August 29, 2012 update: Shortly after I posted this article, One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson tweeted: “So pleased to tell you that our new album is called ‘take me home’ can’t wait for you to hear it! More news soooon! #takemehome.”
