Simpler is usually better when it comes to skin care, and Phytomer’s hit a home run by covering all the skin aging bases (or at least the most visibly annoying ones) with its new Youth Contour Reviving Wrinkle Correction Cream Eye and Lip Care.
Why buy separate eye and lip creams to fight fine lines and wrinkles when there’s a one-size-fits-all cream that’ll address both areas?
True to their roots, Phytomer Youth Contour returns to the sea for its main ingredient story. The Phytomer line utilizes seawater, seaweed and seaside plants in each and every one of their products. Youth Contour contains a blend of Algae – red algae, green algae, and brown algae – that are said to help stimulate ‘the synthesis of structural proteins that make up the dermis’ along with ‘restructuring skin’s hydrolipic film, helping to improve water retention’.
Youth Contour, as with most Phytomer (and Vie or Phytoceane) creams is richer than a number of drugstore eye creams, but it absorbs quickly and does soften fine lines in the process–around both the eye and lip area. Around the eyes, Youth Contour creates a more refreshed, relaxed look. Be sure to avoid applying too much under eyes, however, as while Youth Contour touts the ability to address dark circles and puffiness in addition to fine lines, too much product can deliver the opposite result (puffy almost swollen looking eyes), particularly when worn overnight. A little is all you need.
For around lips, while Youth Contour does soften fine lines a bit, its best to wait until its fully absorbed before applying lip liner or any lip color to avoid feathering and bleeding. Once the cream is absorbed, makeup goes on smoothly and doesn’t slip or skip.
Phytomer Youth Contour, .5 fl. oz. is available online, at LeSpa USA ($74); the Phytomer line is also available at DermStore.com, and select products can be found at Amazon.com.
