Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned esthetician, Shelley Hancock is a person you should know. Licensed Esthetician since 1988 and owner of a skin care center in 1990, she brings 24 years of experience to the skin care industry. She is the owner of Shelley Hancock’s Real Transformation Center, in Foster City, CA. Three months ago, I had the pleasure of meeting her and her husband Nathan at the Skin Script Rx Exfoliant Fundamental Class that was held at the Holiday Inn Chicago O’Hare location. This was a powerful workshop; Shelley Hancock joined forces with Lisa Vanbockern of Skin Script Rx. As Lisa Vanbockern, introduced her natural skin care line, Shelley Hancock would demonstrated new skin care equipment that could be used in conjunction with the treatment, for a more result-oriented service.
Infused with passion for the skin care industry, Shelley’s goal is to help other skin care professionals transform their skin care business, by providing real skin care education, from real skin care experience.
During the workshop, Shelley answered numerous questions from enthusiastic estheticians and demonstrated popular spa equipment, such as the LED Face Mask, Pulse Electroporation, Dermasweep, RejuvenAirO2 Oxygen Infusion, Dermafile and Ultrasonic Spatulas. Highlighted below were my two favorites: the Dermafile and Ultrasonic Spatulas.
Dermafile is a skin polishing, resurfacing tool, made from stainless steel and finely crushed cosmetic diamonds. Dermafile is used to safely remove varying levels of the epidermis, by lightly polishing the skin by hand. The files come in three grades of fine, medium and coarse.
Ultrasonic Spatulas, is being called the new generation of microdermabrasion. Ultrasonic Spatulas, uses the technology of ultrasound. The ultrasound waves vibrate to gently exfoliate the skin, by pushing out dirt from the pores. The skin spatulas are non-abrasive, and can be used on all skin types, rosacea, acne and aging skin. The skin spatula, increase blood circulation, stimulates collagen, elastin, which increases greater product penetration of serums, lotions, creams and masks.
