Respect is “the condition of being esteemed or honored.” It is something that needs to be earned through doing good by promoting ideas that help people and which help to make a better world as well as by doing kind acts for people, animals and society and the world in general.
Many people believe we should respect the “revealed” religions. I think this is a very bad idea. The “revealed” religions all promote not only known falsehoods, but they have practices which cause harm and even death to innocent people. For example, the belief in healing through prayers and faith causes the deaths of innocent children every month in the US alone. The belief that God wants us to slaughter animals without first rendering them unconscious as is taught in Judaism (kosher) and in Islam (halal) causes animals to unnecessarily suffer pain, panic and terror while putting cash in the pockets of the clergy.
Another religious practice which further demonstrates that the “revealed” religions do not deserve our respect (although we should respect the sincere people who are caught-up in a “revealed” religion – as the saying goes, “We hate the superstition, not the superstitious”) and which we currently have a chance to use to educate people about the assault on children and reason the Jewish practice of circumcision known as metzitzah b’peh is. This is practiced primarily by Orthodox Jews and is a repugnant offense against Nature and its child victims. The practice involves the rabbi/mohel using his mouth to suck directly on the freshly cut/circumcised penis of the infant victim of circumcision in order to remove the blood.
Already several children have contracted herpes from the rabbis/mohels and have died. The most recent infant victim that we’re aware of died in Brooklyn, New York last September. Since then this disgusting and unnatural religious practice has come under review by the New York City Health Department. Mayor Bloomberg said regarding metzitzah b’peh, “There are certain practices that doctors say are not safe and we will not permit those practices to the extend that we can stop them. You don’t have a right to put any child’s life in danger, and this clearly does.”
For voicing this common sense statement Bloomberg has come under attack by Orthodox Jew and Brooklyn State Assemblyman Dov Hikind. Hikind said, “Orthodox Judaism isn’t barbaric.” If this were true it would not condone and promote the barbaric practice of metzitzah b’peh.
The more we make people aware of the cruel and disgusting practices of the “revealed” religions, the more we’ll force them to think and to confront the harmful nonsense. Please post this article all across the Internet and let your friends and family know just how backwards and in need of replacement the “revealed” religions are. What a beautiful world we will have once these ancient violence promoting and God-given reason assaulting superstitions are gone and the rational and natural religious philosophy of Deism stands in their place!
