The Washington Post headline on Thursday, August 30 said that Condoleezza Rice stamps her ticket for 2016/2020 by her well-received Republican National Convention speech. And that’s what Dr. David Jeremiah would call a Queen Esther moment.
Rice was like Esther “at the right place, at the right time,” on Wednesday night if she wanted to lay the foundation for a presidential run in 2016. She wowed the crowd and was “good without being gimmicky” the Post reported.
So was Queen Esther who, according to Biblical text, waited patiently and prayerfully before finally requesting an audience with her husband the king on behalf of her Jewish people.
Esther “did what God enabled her to do in a moment of crisis,” and Condoleeza Rice has certainly navigated crisis after crisis herself when she served as America’s Secretary of State under the Bush administration.
Like Esther, Condoleeza Rice has been thrust into the highest political circles of her land during her lifetime and she may be called to make a bid for the presidency on behalf of her people–conservatives, black females, and Christians–“for such a time as this.”
