Sugar Land has a storied business past that includes sugar cane as a main ingredient; hence, the name of the city. But the Houston suburb has moved forward and today is known for many things besides a common sweetener and one of them happens to be minor league baseball team. They are known as the Sugar Land Skeeters and St. Arnold has an event planned at the new ballpark. Here are the facts:
Who: Saint Arnold Brewery
What: St. Arnold Night with the Sugarland Skeeters
Where: Constellation Field, 1 Stadium Drive, Sugar Land, TX
When: Thursday, August 2, at 7:05 p.m. with a pregame event at 5 p.m.
Why: To experience a minor league baseball game, St. Arnold style.
St. Arnold plans to start this event at the Sugar Land Flying Saucer, located at 15929 City Walk, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This pre- game party will feature a special cask of St. Arnold Endeavour along with the usual, tasty refreshments for which the Flying Saucer is known.
Once the pregame festivities are complete, it will be time to head to Constellation Field to watch the Skeeters take on the Somerset Patriots. The game will feature a Battle of the Bands and at least one special surprise not to be missed: St. Arnold founder Brock Wagner is going to throw out the first pitch.
