As summer heats up, so does the number of San Diego fiction events. From the San Diego County Library, to Mysterious Galaxy, to Warwick’s, they’re all listed here.

July 31, 7:30 p.m., M.L. Stedman at Warwick’s

Debut novelist M.L. Stedman will be at Warwick’s on Tuesday, July 31st at 7:30 p.m. to discuss and sign her novel The Light Between Oceans. When fate brings another family’s baby into the lives of a young couple who’ve led isolated lives, they keep the baby and later learn the consequences of their actions.

August 1, 7 p.m., Cassandra Clare at Mysterious Galaxy

New York Times bestselling author Cassandra Clare will be signing her fifth book in the “Mortal Instruments” series, which asks difficult questions. Can the lost be reclaimed? August 2, 6:30 p.m., Rick Emmerson at Del Mar Library

In The Bear Guardian, a team of research scientists uncovers and must fight against a secret government plot that will have devastating effects on society. August 4, 2 p.m., Terrence King at Mysterious Galaxy

Terrence King became inspired to write The Silent Partner when his uncle was murdered. The Silent Partner is about a smart-mouthed angel who is sent back to earth to help save humanity despite her feelings that humanity doesn’t deserve to be saved. August 5, 2 p.m., Reina Menasche at Mysterious Galaxy

San Diego social worker and teacher Reina Menasche will be at Mysterious Galaxy to sign her novel about love, loss, and renewal, Twice Begun. In Twice Begun, a woman who is a social worker and aspiring writer discovers that her husband has betrayed her.
