While promoting his FX show “Brand X with Russell Brand,” at the Television Critics Association Saturday, Russell Brand issued a vulgar statement on Sarah Palin’s popularity.
“People want to f**k her. That’s why they tolerate the other stuff,” he said.
Twitchy reported Saturday that Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown coed who was called a “slut” by Rush Limbaugh, came to her defense.
“Completely unacceptable remark re Sarah Palin. Female politicians deserve to be judged on merits of their ideas only, (sic)” she tweeted.
“She would not be so kind to you. Why does the left always have to be soooooo fair?” one person asked Fluke in response.
The Huffington Post dismissed Brand’s remark as a “joke,” and said that he has come under fire for making similar remarks before.
“In 2008, after hosting the MTV Video Music Awards, he admitted that the network had cut a joke from the telecast involving Palin’s then-pregnant daughter Bristol, abortion and the electric chair,” the Huffington Post reported.
“I wanted to say she was forcing her teenage daughter to have a baby because she is so anti-abortion. But also, as a Republican she is pro-execution so she is going to give her the electric chair for being a little slut,” he told the Telegraph.
“Most of the so-called feminists happily threw Palin under the bus and ignored comments that would’ve enraged them if directed at Hillary or so forth, so I’ll give Fluke props for actually acting on what she preaches,” one person commented at Twitchy.
“But as for that person that thinks the left is always “soooooo fair?” Well, excuse me while I join the Captain in some laughing,” the commenter added, referring to an earlier comment.
