The long-time running NBC sketch show, “Saturday Night Live” is gearing up for its 38th season this on September 15th and it looks like Seth MacFarlane will host. The writer and director of this summer’s hit comedy “Ted”, as well as the show-runner of TV’s “Family Guy”, will be hosting for the first time. The musical guest for the season premiere will be Frank Ocean.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host on September 22nd. JGL has been particularly busy this year. He’s already starred in “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Premium Rush” this summer and still has “Looper” with Bruce Willis and Spielberg’s “Lincoln” coming out this fall. Mumford & Sons will be the musical guest.
NBC announces fall 2012 television line-up
Daniel Craig, who just escorted the Queen to the opening ceremony at the 2012 Olympics, will host on October 6th. Craig is back as James Bond in “Skyfall”, coming in November. Keeping with the British theme, Muse will be the musical guest.
“SNL” will have a different look this season with Abby Elliot, Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg have left the show in the past few months. Sources say it’s still possible that Kansas City native Jason Sudeikis may leave as well. The show doesn’t usually announce the full cast for its new season until right before the premiere.
